Privacy Policy

Effective: 2026 · FiFi Recipes iPhone and iPad app ("the app"), published by Ahmed Abdel Aal.

The short version

We collect no data. No accounts, no analytics, no crash-reporting SDKs, no advertising, no tracking. The app's App Store privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

What the app does on your device

What fifi.cooking sees

Like any website, the static hosting that serves the recipe data may log standard request metadata (IP address, timestamp, requested file) for security and abuse prevention. No recipe content request carries any account, identifier, or personal data — there is nothing to attach it to.

YouTube embeds

Some recipes include cooking videos hosted on YouTube. If you choose to play one, the app loads an embedded player from youtube-nocookie.com — Google's privacy-enhanced embed domain, which avoids setting tracking cookies until you press play. At that point Google's privacy policy applies to the player itself. Choosing "Open in YouTube" instead hands the link to the YouTube app or your browser.

Children

Kids mode is a feature for families cooking together — the app collects nothing from anyone, children included.

Changes

Any future change to this policy will be posted here before it ships. Contact: ios@fifi.cooking.

Who is responsible

The app is maintained by Ahmed Abdel Aal for the family of Dr. Fatma Alkawokgy. Ahmed Abdel Aal is the controller of any personal data described here and the person responsible for privacy, including under Quebec's Law 25. Contact: ios@fifi.cooking.

Legal bases and transfers

Where the EU or UK GDPR applies, request data seen by our hosts (GitHub Pages and Cloudflare) is processed on the basis of legitimate interests in delivering and protecting the service (art. 6(1)(f)); settings kept on your device are strictly necessary for features you use. These providers are in the United States and rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those words are used in California law, and we make no automated decisions about people.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may ask to know, access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you (in practice, only emails you send), withdraw consent, object to or restrict processing, and receive a copy, under laws including Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, the EU and UK GDPR, the California Consumer Privacy Act and other U.S. state laws, and Brazil's LGPD. Write to ios@fifi.cooking; we answer within 30 days. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, Quebec's Commission d'accès à l'information, your EU data protection authority, the UK ICO or the California Privacy Protection Agency.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age set by local law). If a child has emailed us, a parent or guardian can ask us to delete it.
